Well finally got a bit of time to sit down and post the results of Sundays day out. If you can't guess I went 2-2 and managed to place 8/16. Not too shabby, well it might be, I'm not entirely sure all 16 were there so am in the lower half by the looks of things.
I got there and realised I had left stormwalls cards at home, I have been testing eHaley with Thunderhead and a Stormclad and had that set up in my card sleeves. So I only played the first game with her, using war room. I hate war room for gaming, it just doesn't work.
So, quick run down:
Game 1, eHaley vs Harbringer. I forgot to feat the right turn so ended up pretty ovewhelmed, managed to open up a gap and waltzed Stormwall around a few models to punch harbringer in the face. The gap I made was literally a cockhair at either side and we had to get the wreck marker for him out and wiggle it about to see if he would even fit. He did, and a 9" advance around all his army to get there is a beautiful thing. I took only 1 free strike from a choir boy. nothing to worry about there.
Game 2, Kara vs Borka (family reunion). There are times you feel like an absolute tit...This was one of them. I got second, but the speed that Boomhowler is across the table in that theme force threw me a bit and I didn't even try contesting zones in my second turn, he scored 2 in my turn and dominated in his turn to score another 3. 5 to win. Game over, lost by accident. Oh dear me.
Game 3, Kara vs eThagrosh. Between Boomhowler running and tying down the Hex Hunters and then Long Gunners putting covering fire over them he lost an entire unit over a couple of turns. That freed up the zone while Thagrosh was bumbling over to the flag to dominate. His beasts were traded for mine and Kara really went to town gunning down anything that she could. In the end massive attrition victory. Oh and one more thing, even a Blinded Carvivean managed to wreck my Defender in one activation. Brutal, I charged him after blinding reasoning it was more effective and pretty safe. Never make that mistake again, those things are scary.
Game 4, Kara vs Vlad3. Great opening, managed to take down his gun carrige so the only heavy thing against me was Torch. These was a mass scrimmage going down in the middle which Boomhowler was starting to loose for me but I had him backed up. Then I forgot to trigger Refuge on kara leaving her in a pretty bad spot. Still not too bad...Yeah did you know Vlad3 has a feat which grants Sidestep? I actually did but still tried to get bodies in front of her, you know...to stop that charge that was pretty much out of distance anyway...
I had a great time though, it can be a bit of a mixed crowd in leeds but I got good opponents all day and quite enjoyed myself. Is just a shame I got locked into Kara the last three games due to forgetting a card.

Submitted Lists
So, I tried to get Nemo2 up and running. I failed and couldn't get him to twig for me. I really want to have a list with the old boy up and running but it won't be for Leeds this Sunday, unfortunatly I can't seem to keep him safe during the scenarios. Every game I have played I have built up the momentum and then watched as my opponent sidestepped the Stormwall and killed him. It'll take more games and many tweaks untill I am comfortable with him. So, last minute and I only have one list. I have had to fall back on an old faithful, the queen of all Cygnar. eHaley. Yeah sorry, I chickened out.
I did have to sneak a Stormwall into her list. I aint paying for one only to leave it at home for the years first tournament of the year, Thankfully that was easy, I usually have a Stormclad and Defender. Switch. eEyriss is in the Sloan list so she became 3 Stormsmiths, as is Gorman who became Arlan Strangeways.
eHaley +5pts
Squire -2pts
Thorn -8pts
Stormwall -19pts
Stormblades and UA -8pts
Gun Mages and UA -8pts
Stormsmiths x3 -3pts
Captian Arlan Strangeways -2pts
Journeyman Warcaster -3pts
Rhupert Carvolo -2pts
To put this in comparison and to be complete the Sloan list is below, this thankfully had testing to the point that I was comfortable with.
Kara Sloan -6pt
Avenger -9pts
Defender -9pts
Gun Mages with UA -8pts
Long Gunners, max with UA -12pts
Boomhowler and Co, max -9pts
Journeyman Warcaster -3pts
Reinholdt -1pt
Gorman di Wulfe -2pts
eEyriss -3pts
On the painting front I have been pretty busy, the sloan list is 100% painted now. The eHaley list has the stormblades needing finishing (about 40% through), the Stormsmiths (about 20% through) and the Stormwall needs finishing (who is about 45%).
For this event I have painted, Kara Sloan, Long Gunners and UA, Boomhowler and Co, Arlan Strangeways, Reinholdt and eEyriss. Oh, lets not forget Viktor Pendrake, who was dropped from the Sloan list in one of the early tweaks, Nemo2 who no longer gets a list and Thunderhead. His techno-pet. At least you got painted guys.
Nemo and Thunderhead are some of my favorite minis, been enjoying painting them and the practise games where they were getting slapped about. Quick sneaky glimpse of Stormwall there too. His upper half is done mostly, it's his legs need the paint then onto washes. Getting there but still so much work needs doing.
Quick pair of boomhowler shots, he still needs eyes but thats a 2 second job. Anyway thats all folks, I have another practise game tomorrow hopefully so will give the eHaley list a quick whirl but I know her well enough to know that the list should work well enough. Just a bit upset I couldn't find Nemo.

Quick Tinkerings
So, deadline is coming up and the lists still are not set. I mean ok I did pick up a new Warcaster and decide she was the one I was taking, Probably not the wisest idea.
This week I was snowed in, I could have made it to the club but not sure if anyone else would have so stayed in and played over vassal. The list was nearly the same but I had subbed out the B13th and Rangers for a unit of Gun Mages and used the spare point to up Pendrake to a Journeyman (best thing I did). The list performed a lot smoother aside from a few points. Namely the Avenger.
The list is working mostly by the Journeyman shielding Boomhowler who then runs up and jams the other line, keeping them away. Seriously, running if I can't get the charge. Most things that can drop a boomie grunt even at ARM19 with that charge. Running at them to take that away can make all the difference. When any gaps appear the Longgunners, Kara and her battlegroup open up and fill the gap full of bullets. The problem lies mostly with the AOE KD. I managed to knock down a couple of boomie grunts with the damn thing. It did make up for it by charging through and applying the Stun Blade into a Vanquishers face. So I am unsure about it, the gun is nice but doesn't really work with how I want to run the list. Having said that he is a ranged 'jack so I get good use out of him when a gap opens up thats big enough, the main reason is that he also has a big sword. Which means I have back up melee capabilitys.
More practise, I think the Gun Mages and Journeyman are a good swap over Rangers, B13th and Pendrake. The comment on a previous post by Whitestar333 was quite close to the original list plan and I must say has been spot on.

41pts of Electrified Steel
So I posted earlier today making this a massive treat for everybody! I said about how I couldn't pick a 'caster for my second list. Well I remembered the conversation I had with Ed (my Menite friend) and how he thought I would have bought Nemo3 instead of Sloan, seeing as I love the old guy. Well I replied that I hadn't played Nemo in ages but thats gonna change. eNemo is bringing the Steel.
Ok, bit of a mad list.
eNemo +6pts
Squire -2pts
Stormclad -10pts
Thunderhead -12pts
Stormwall +19pts
Stormblades (w/UA) -8pts
Arlan Strangeways -2pts
Stormsmith Stormcallers (x3) -3pts
It's a lot of points in warjacks for me, I usually take 2-3 but that has never been alongside the Stormwall. I figured I wanted it in a list for this event (it'll be Stormwalls first tournament) why not take him alongside Nemo. Hopefully I have thrown something together that will work, Nemo can be focus 8 on 3 turns and with the Stormblades giving the Stormclad 1 a turn for free and Arlan powerboosting anything that may need it I think focus should be fairly easy to play about with, that is compleatly discounting Nemo's feat turn.
Each 'jack covers the others:
Stormclad is as always the king of Melee, between Lightning Shroud and Energiser he should be hitting first and dropping something important. He can struggle with a mass of infantry but hey, thats why we have...
Thunderhead is there purely and simply to wipe troops off the board. Energiser gets him in range for his pulse. Arlan has his Evasive Action spell to help him slip out of melee and fry the offenders and I dont have to worry about frying my own guys because everything else is immune. Aside from the Squire.
Stormwall is rounding this out with a pair of cannons, covering fire templates and Lightning Pod's. With eNemos elite cadre there is very little that will be safe from eletrical death.
This is all good and well on paper. I have used the stormclad/thunderhead battlegroup before, swapping out the 3rd heavy for whatever took a passing interest. I honestly have little idea how the list will fare. It is quite low on the model count, so holding onto anything will be difficult. I may get this list onto the table soon, try and work it out a bit. Nowhere near enough time till the 10th of Febuary to work 2 entirely new lists up to scratch for this event. But at least it's something new for me. 2013 is starting off quite interestingly.

Sloan, a new direction
So I have picked up yet another 'caster, this time Kara Sloan. I have never seen her figure in person, not once at any tournement, nobody in the local group has her (though to be fair we dont actually have many dedicated Cygnarians) and I have never seen her used on Vassal. So, must be a great 'caster right? SOLD!
I played one game against my Menite friend, he used Vindictus and for once I helped him with his list, he usually just throws it all together. In the end the list gave me fits (so I did something right?) and Zealots got right up into my grill by abusing True Path and their mini feat (which name alludes me, but makes them pretty much invincible) and threw bombs at the longgunners and managed to get a crit on Kara herself setting her on fire. Gonna be honest though, Ryan of the Black 13th made them pay for that insult dropping about 6 of them in a single magestorm. Range 5 bombs made them bunch up to try peg Kara. In the end Kara hit a bare Vindictus with Spitfire, an Avenger missed but hit him with blast and boosted that for a few points and then finally the Defender boosted the shot, hit. Boosted the damage and failed to finish the deal. I am getting a bit cross with that 'jack. I'm sure it has a quirk in it's cortex. Well I threw up a hasty screen with Boomhowler totally forgetting the 2 Errants and Errant solo who hadn't been compleatly finished off in the Forest behind her...yeah. Ouchies.
Anyway the list I am using hopefully for a while, (tournament 10th Feb).
Kara Sloan
Avenger
Defender
Black 13th
Rangers
Longgunners (max w/UA)
Boomhowler & Co (max)
Reindholt
Pendrake
Gorman di Wulfe
eEyriss
It might get a few tweaks. Pendrake is a bit iffy in there and was only added bcause I have finished painting him recently. I may slip in Stormwall, I only want it in one of my lists but I am still not sure on the other one yet. I havent even picked a 'caster for the second list.
Anyway, I have a painted Pendrake and am working my way through one of my oldest Cygnarian units. The Longgunners are finally getting paint. I am waiting for my phone repairing as thats the camera I usually use for the photos on here. Which is why they are always bad...yeah, thats it. The cameras fault.

3rd place
Well, this weekends tournament went well enough. I took 3rd place behind Legion and Trolls. I call that a victory right? I didn't end up taking Wake of Destruction. Instead opting for a more conventional eKrueger list. I'd basically only managed 1 practise game with the list and deemed myself unready with it.
The first game was against what was to be the guy who came first. He took Seryn, me eKrueger. The key moments...He charged a Gallows Grove and killed it with an Angelius. Then used It's animus to push a Feral out of the control zone to score. He then Feated so I couldn't kill it or any of his other beasties. My turn came round I feated back at him, used a few of Kruegers other tricks (basically Telekenisis lol) to secure both of the zones and score 2. I Telekenisis'd his Scythean (which had run right at me) round and 2" away. It was now 8" away from Krueger with it's back to me and a -2spd debuff...I thought I was safe. All set to score in either zone next turn and take the win. Along comes a Seraph and the Scythean is looking right at me and 2" closer again. Oops.
Second game, eKaya and Siege. I got first. Put up shadowpack and went forwards. He moved siege to take a potshot at the Stalker after a Magesight. He didn't kill it and 14" away from a Stalker with eKaya and some Druids is not a healty place to be. Game ended on my second turn as he put nothing of note between Captian Slashy and Siege. We even had time to play a second game just for the funsies.
3rd Game was against eButcher and I switched back to eKrueger. He put on the pressure but between Kruegers feat netting me 2 control points again and the Woldguardian wandering about smashing faces in he never had a chance to stop me netting the 3rd to take the win via scenario...which is good as nobody can kill Butcher. Thats a fact. It's practically in the rules.
4th game was against my friend Scott. Who despite a rather long break away was taking some names with Vyros and Rahn. I got Vyros for our game. I took Krueger again. The scenario was a funny one with an interactive objective flag thing in the middle of a zone. If the 'Caster/'Lock was in B2B with the flag there was some paltry benafit. I ignored it and left some Shifting Stones holding mine. Backed up by the Lord of the Feast. 'Cause you know...he kills stuff that comes near. Kreuger went for the throat with his battlegroup. He moved Vyros into contact with his objective, I teleported a Woldguardian with my second set of Shifters at him after some really lucky Force Bolts dropped the Sentinals in the way. Then Krueger did his thing and set up a nice direct path for my Feral to get in and finish the job. Second turn victory...again. And I even scored a control point because apparently I only needed to hold my flag and contest his zone. Gravy!
All told a good day out. I ended 3 of the games I played before any of the other tables. Which seems to be my thing. Met some good guys and had a blast playing with ma Forest Mans.
Oh, as a note. I was nearly entirely painted. I had only my Skinwalkers to finish. Oh well, nearly. One day soon I'll take a pair of lists and they'll BOTH be funny painted.

Aftermath
So, thats it. Just got home from Manchester and the 35pts tournament there. A quick rundown of each game!
Game 1, Baldur vs eHaley. Lots of control each way, gun mages did a good bit of damage to druids but thats no bother, I was keeping him out of the control point quite nicely. Didn't actually get any control points as he held on with one Gun Mage which I missed with the attacks I threw his way. It's ok, I'm playing control, We can keep him off. It's at this point I learn we're playing these games at 45minutes (standard should be about 120=2d6) so I had to run the assassination or else it's just gonna end, tried, failed, time ran out. Most unsatisfying game.
Game 2, Kromac vs Baldur. I'm Kromac, with these games being a grand total of 45 minutes control wasn't going to work, I had to throw myself at it full on. So my scondary list (which was only an in case list anyway) was in order. I'd give you a list but it was irrelevant. After shifting a Stalker with stones up and it being out by a hair then loosing that under the onslaught of 2 Woldwardens and Megalith advancing up centre. I threw Kromac at Megalith in frustration. He died. Time was called shortly afterwards, We'd made bottom of turn 3.
Game 3, Kromac vs Ravyn. Ret player didn't leave deployment zone. I was forced to run over the entire board. I got to swing one axe...it missed. Time was called. I said game 1 was most unsatisfying, this one takes that biscuit.
45min games! Really? I don't think any of my games would have been over properly if I'd not thrown game 2 in such a daft manner. Playing these games over tables that had maybe 2 walls and 2 (very) small forests. I was practically forced to run headlong into death or glory. It was mostly death. Aye well, I bought Grayle and ate a pasty...got to look at the bright side right?

It's about to hit the fan.
Well, second post in and heres a quick selection of photos for my 35pts Baldur 'Rock of Orboros' theme force that I'm taking to Fanboy3 this weekend for the tournament there.
The list is...(if you can't tell from the pictures, although yes I know they are bad lol)
Baldur +6pts
Woldwatcher -5pts
Woldwarden -9pts
Megalith -11pts
Druids of Orboros w/Overseer -9pts
Shifting Stones -2pts
Sentry Stone -3pts
Blackclad Wayfarer -2pts
Not too bad looking, I have found to be quite nastily outnumbered when playing this, but the reason I'm going for it is the rediculious amount of advanced deployment. Everything bar Baldur and the Wayfarer are setting up at the 16" mark and the Sentry Stone is going right up to the 20". This is just deployment, Giving me a nice edge on the land grab scenarios. Anyway, a quick rundown on my choices for this one;
Baldur - my weakest Warlock by far. I don't know why but he's never clicked for me. So naturally I'm going to take him to a tournament right? Well yeah why not, he exerts a massive amount of control between his feat and rapid growth. He has nice defensive tech in solid ground and stone skin and his earthspikes spell is just icing, yes it's Fury3 for an AOE3 (which is a bit small by todays standards) but it ignores a good few common defensive buffs and being Fury3 means it can be happily geomancied.
Woldwatcher - much maligned as a light warbeast, it's only Fury2 so isnt very useful for it's high cost of 5pts, so how do I justify it? Well twofold, fertalizer on it's ranged attack and sheild guard. Meaning I can create more forests for Baldur to teleport to and keep him protected from big ranged threats.
The big Wolds - I doubt I have to justify them, it's all theme allows and they work well with the Stonecleaver. Between Geomancy, free charges and the ability to heal them Wolds and Baldur go together. The animi are just gravy, Megaliths is yet more control and Woldwardens give me a forest which I can drop at Baldurs feet.
Druids - between countermagic and forcebolt these guys further my control theme, push people off objectives, feat and keep them off. Win. The Overseer is included to give them AD, a few immunities, a nasty ranged spell and most important an extra inch on counter magic.
Shifting Stones - teleporty goodness, do I need to say more? Ok between that, healing consructs and keeping fury down on them they make the list. They always make the list though. They are awesome.
Sentry Stone - christ, this one is a hard one to swallow, 3pts for something that can make a few forests now and again? Ok it works with Baldur as it gives a forest walk avenue, and his theme gives AD to beasts if I have one in. It makes the grade, I'm still not 100% sold on it mind.
Blackclad Wayfarer - Wolds are slow, Hunters Mark adds +2 to charges. +2 is always good so he usually makes all my lists, in this list though he's pulling double duty as an accurate spray. My anti infantry is quite low. Hell my anti armour is quite low...I'm not gonna be killing much it would seem.
Well, I've a list and a plan. Will it work? Only time will tell. I'm going in, with my weakest Warlock. What shall happen? Well, I'll likely crash and burn...till next time.
The list is...(if you can't tell from the pictures, although yes I know they are bad lol)
Baldur +6pts
Woldwatcher -5pts
Woldwarden -9pts
Megalith -11pts
Druids of Orboros w/Overseer -9pts
Shifting Stones -2pts
Sentry Stone -3pts
Blackclad Wayfarer -2pts
Not too bad looking, I have found to be quite nastily outnumbered when playing this, but the reason I'm going for it is the rediculious amount of advanced deployment. Everything bar Baldur and the Wayfarer are setting up at the 16" mark and the Sentry Stone is going right up to the 20". This is just deployment, Giving me a nice edge on the land grab scenarios. Anyway, a quick rundown on my choices for this one;
Baldur - my weakest Warlock by far. I don't know why but he's never clicked for me. So naturally I'm going to take him to a tournament right? Well yeah why not, he exerts a massive amount of control between his feat and rapid growth.
